Dr. Maisha Correia is a Psychiatrist in California who has been practicing since 2010. She earned her BA in Psychology with a Chemistry correlate from Vassar College, then moved to San Francisco to earn her MD from University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. Dr. Correia provides a thoughtful, complete diagnostic evaluation in addition to well considered medication management for a variety of psychiatric conditions. She has a particular interest in treating chronic trauma symptoms as well as a broad base of experience doing so. Dr. Correia prefers to adopt a collaborative approach to medication management and welcomes discussion around treatment that a patient might be interested in trying. In her spare time, Dr. Correia is a big lover of fiber arts. She has crocheted since she was 5 or 6 years old, started knitting about 10 years ago and in the last several years started spinning her own yarn. Her latest special interest is flatbed knitting machines. She has always enjoyed making presents for loved ones and now that another wave of friends and cousins have started having children, she thinks, “I’ve been training my whole life for this!” and dives into making another baby blanket, amigurumi plush, piece of warm weather gear, etc.

Dr. Correia and Lifestance, along with my therapist, Julia Lundeberg, have been awesome to work with. Scheduling appointments, asking questions, and getting clarification of insurance benefits and billing are smooth and relatively easy. I also appreciate the reminders for my appointments, ease in checking in, and the quality of the video appointments. Communication from all levels of the organization is prompt and professional. The only area of growth I can suggest is in their technology. The links that are sent have not been working properly since early April. I must reach out directly to Dr. Correia and Julia to ask them to send a valid link. Overall, I highly recommend Lifestance and their healthcare providers.

Dr. Correia is awesome. She really listens & explains things well. Sometimes she explains things in different ways so that you understand everything. She is very knowledgeable & knows all the side effects of medicines. She is willing to talk to you about the side effects even before you start or change your medicine around. I have been to many many psychiatrist who never mentioned any side effects... Even when I would ask about them. She is good & hard to find. I'm fortunate to have her as my psychiatrist. She is definitely by your side to help you through it all. Thanks Dr. Correia!

I highly recommend Dr. Correia and LifeStance. This is posting under my husband’s profile but I was the patient, Rachelle Aschwanden. I have been struggling with my previous provider leaving the practice I was with for several years and insurance issues. Dr. Correia was recommended to me and I’m so glad I took the advice. She was kind and compassionate and I feel very positive about her plan of treatment moving ahead.

I’ve been seeing Dr Correa for the last five years and feel very comfortable and safe in her care. Her approach is logical and medically sound while she demonstrates compassion and care. I would recommend her to anyone see Psychiatric assistance.
