Renata Meixner Okonkwo, Psychologist
Renata Meixner is a Psychologist in Wisconsin who has been practicing since 2011. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Biology from Hope College, a Master of Arts in Medical/Clinical Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, a Predoctoral Internship in Clinical Health Psychology Track with General Mental Health Minor from the Veteran Affairs Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven, CT, a Doctor of Philosophy in Medical/ Clinical Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in a Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Renata is skilled in diagnosing, assessing, and treating adults experiencing mental health challenges, ranging from severe, comorbid mental health diagnoses to individuals with adjustment difficulties related to life-role changes. Her treatment includes comprehensively assessing and treating adults of all ages who present with mental health difficulties alone or comorbid with medical, neurocognitive, and/or substance use difficulties. In collaboration with patients and families, she creates dynamic treatment plans that utilize a wide range of evidence-based psychotherapeutic treatment modalities. Renata is passionate for tailoring mental health treatment to each patient’s cultural values and goals of care. Additionally, her behavioral health specialization in treating individuals with comorbid acute and/or chronic medical difficulties significantly enhances my abilities to provide holistic patient care.
In her spare time, Renata enjoys being outdoors, cooking, comedy, and spending time with family and friends.
