Kathie Kaopuiki-Nestrick, Therapist
Kathie Kaopuiki-Nestrick, CPC, helps adults in Nevada navigate life’s complexities with clarity, compassion, and clinical expertise. She offers individual, couples, and family therapy to adults and seniors, including those navigating major transitions, emotional overwhelm, and interpersonal struggles. Drawing from decades of experience in both counseling and high-impact leadership roles, Kathie specializes in supporting those facing burnout, identity shifts, and challenges in caregiving or professional environments. Her culturally grounded and trauma-informed approach provides a safe space for healing, insight, and lasting change. Kathie is deeply committed to helping individuals find resilience and direction during some of life’s most difficult moments. She offers support for anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and post-traumatic stress, with a focus on midlife and later-life transitions. Whether working with a couple recovering from years of miscommunication or an individual confronting trauma from the past, Kathie brings warmth, clarity, and practical strategies to every session. Her work is especially attuned to those from LGBTQ+ communities, first responders, and military veterans—populations she serves with deep respect and cultural sensitivity. Kathie is especially passionate about helping women rediscover their inner strength and live with intention. She supports clients through periods of reinvention, such as menopause, career change, divorce, and evolving roles in family and community. Through approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based practices, Kathie helps clients quiet self-doubt, embrace personal growth, and cultivate emotional regulation. She also incorporates parenting skills and couples counseling to foster relational healing and resilience across generations. Outside of the therapy room, Kathie—also known as Haʻaheo—nurtures her connection to her Hawaiian heritage through cultural practice, community, and language. She values quiet time with a good book and cherishes everyday moments spent with her husband and son, living pono (righteously) with aloha (love). Her grounded, values-centered life informs the authenticity she brings to her work.
