Lian Liu, Nurse Practitioner

Lian is particularly passionate about supporting patients through trauma, grief, and later life transitions. She creates a safe and nurturing space for clients to explore their experiences and develop resilience. Her specialized approach to PTSD/trauma and grief allows individuals to process their emotions and find healing. Additionally, Lian’s expertise in later life transitions supports older adults as they face changes in health, relationships, and identity, ensuring that they maintain dignity and well-being during these significant phases of life.

In her practice, Lian utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and parenting skills training to help patients build effective coping strategies. She also incorporates innovative treatments such as Spravato/ketamine therapy for conditions like treatment-resistant depression. Lian serves diverse populations, including individuals on the autism spectrum, military personnel and veterans, and members of the LGBTQ+ community, providing culturally sensitive and inclusive care.

Lian’s academic background from Charles R. Drew University and her experience as a prescriber inform her holistic and patient-centered approach. Fluent in Mandarin, she is committed to breaking down language barriers and providing accessible mental health care to Mandarin-speaking communities across California.

Outside of her clinical work, Lian enjoys activities that foster personal growth and connection, such as exploring the outdoors and engaging in meaningful conversations with family and friends. These hobbies reflect her belief in the importance of balance and self-care, values she integrates into her therapeutic work.
