Derrick is especially passionate about treating anxiety, ADHD, and sleep disorders, recognizing how these challenges can disrupt daily functioning, relationships, and long-term well-being. He takes time to understand how symptoms show up in each person’s life and uses evidence-based strategies to help patients regain focus, reduce emotional distress, and restore healthier sleep patterns. His work blends clinical precision with genuine compassion, allowing patients to feel supported while learning new tools for lasting improvement.

His treatment style incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques, mindfulness, and CBT for Insomnia. Derrick also offers exposure-based approaches when appropriate. He has extensive experience supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and first responders and military veterans who may face high-stress environments and complex emotional needs. He additionally provides care for other populations and mental health concerns based on each patient’s goals.

Outside of clinical work, Derrick enjoys exploring new places, discovering different foods and cultures, and taking on hands-on projects such as carpentry and mechanical tinkering. He values curiosity, patience, and problem-solving—qualities that shape both his hobbies and his therapeutic approach.
