Erik Langner, Nurse Practitioner

Erik Langner, PMHNP-BC, provides comprehensive psychiatric medication management for children, adolescents, teens, adults, and seniors across Illinois through LifeStance Health. As a Nurse Practitioner and Prescriber, he partners with patients and families to develop thoughtful, individualized treatment plans that reduce symptoms and support long-term stability. Erik works with individuals navigating ADHD, anxiety, and depression, helping them improve focus, mood, sleep, and overall functioning through evidence-based psychiatric care. He has a strong clinical focus on stabilizing complex mood and thought disorders while ensuring patients feel heard and respected throughout the process. Erik understands that effective mental health treatment requires more than prescribing medication—it requires collaboration, clear education, and ongoing monitoring to optimize outcomes. He integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)–informed strategies and mindfulness techniques into medication management visits when appropriate, equipping patients with practical tools alongside pharmacologic support. He also treats additional conditions such as bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, and sleep disorders. Erik is particularly passionate about supporting individuals who have been recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital. He recognizes that the transition back to daily life can feel overwhelming and works closely with patients to maintain stability, prevent relapse, and coordinate continuity of care. He also assists with disability paperwork, helping patients navigate the documentation process with clarity and professionalism during times when functioning may be significantly impacted. In addition to serving the broader community, Erik has experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum, first responders, and military/veterans, offering structured, respectful care tailored to their unique experiences and stressors. Outside of clinical practice, Erik enjoys running, discovering new music, continuing his psychiatric education, and spending time with his family.
