Diana Wells, Nurse Practitioner
Diana Wells is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She started her medical journal from the University of St. Francis, Joliet IL, where she obtained a bachelorette of science in Nursing. She practiced as a Registered Nurse for three years focusing on behavioral/mental health. She gained a vast knowledge in mental health disorders and Emergency medicine before advancing her career as an Advanced Practice Nurse with a specialty in psychiatric. Her practicum/residency experiences were in an inpatient/outpatient setting, and Telehealth. She did her residency at UChicago medicine (Ingalls Memorial Health), Amita Health/Alexian Brothers, Family Christian Health Center, and Alay Health Team in WI. She has a combination of over 8 years’ experience in behavioral/mental health. She enjoys practicing the full scope of behavioral/mental health medicine and work well with patients and family members. She is very dedicated in providing quality clinical care to patients and family members across the life span and values holistic, collaborative, and integrative care method. Diana Wells was born and raised in West Africa, Ghana and Nigeria before moving to the United States for her education in health care. Her interest in mental health commence in West Africa, Nigeria, due to primitive/historical belief of mental disorders and the quality-of-care render to individuals with the disorders. She sought out to gain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of mental disorders so she can provide quality care to clients and family members, including education and advocating. At her spare time, she enjoys family time, cooking, dancing, designing, and outdoors activities.
