Rashidat Akinsanya, Nurse Practitioner

Rashidat Akinsanya, PMHNP, is dedicated to helping adolescents, adults, and seniors in Maryland manage and overcome mental health challenges through thoughtful, individualized medication management. She combines clinical precision with deep empathy to support patients as they work toward emotional stability, improved daily functioning, and overall wellness. Rashidat treats a range of mental health concerns, with a focus on evidence-based psychopharmacological care for individuals aged 15 and up. At LifeStance Health, Rashidat offers specialized care for those navigating conditions such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. She takes the time to understand each patient’s unique experiences and medical history, working collaboratively to create treatment plans that support long-term mental health goals. Rashidat serves a broad spectrum of individuals, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, veterans, first responders, and individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders. Rashidat is especially passionate about supporting patients during major life transitions and helping them manage the emotional weight of grief, medical conditions, or postpartum depression and anxiety. She also works with individuals coping with trauma, school avoidance, hoarding behaviors, and health-related psychological issues, offering compassionate, tailored support to help them regain control and find a path forward. Outside of her clinical work, Rashidat enjoys reading, attending church with her family, and spending meaningful time with loved ones—values that inform her warm, person-centered approach to care.
