Emeka Durunna, Nurse Practitioner

Emeka Durunna, PMHNP-BC, provides compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care for individuals across Michigan, helping teens, adults, and seniors achieve greater emotional stability and improved quality of life through personalized medication management at LifeStance Health. He partners closely with patients to address conditions such as anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, while also supporting a broad range of additional mental health concerns with a thoughtful and individualized approach. He has a strong clinical focus on supporting individuals navigating complex transitions in care, including those recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital or participating in court-ordered treatment. Emeka understands the importance of continuity, safety, and trust during these critical periods and works diligently to stabilize symptoms, reduce risk, and help patients reintegrate into daily life with confidence and support. Emeka incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-informed strategies alongside medication management to promote long-term wellness and empower patients with practical tools for managing symptoms. He has experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with autism spectrum disorders, military/veterans, and those with developmental disabilities, and offers additional areas of expertise to meet a wide variety of patient needs. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Emeka brings a holistic perspective shaped by his medical and mental health training, including experience managing complex co-occurring conditions in clinical settings. He is committed to delivering care that is respectful, collaborative, and focused on each patient’s unique goals. Outside of his practice, Emeka enjoys traveling, walking, and staying active through tennis and soccer, which support his balanced and wellness-focused lifestyle.
