Gerri Hagadon-Szakal, Nurse Practitioner
I am board certified as both a psychiatric nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner. My focus is to improve the mental health status of the individual, family and community through emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention, by focusing on self-responsibility, education and treatment. I am a graduate of Michigan State University, Rush University in Chicago and Oakland University in Rochester, MI. I am an experienced nurse practitioner having a passion for working with children, adolescents and young adults. I have been a family nurse practitioner for 22 years and psychiatric provider for 14 years. I have been a clinical professor at the University of Michigan-Flint for the past 10 years. Prior to joining the Lifestance team, I managed a 26-bed adolescent unit at Cedar Creek Hospital.
I live with my husband in Owosso Michigan, where we own and operate a farm, raising, wheat, corn and soybeans. I understand the needs and limitations of the rural community.
I enjoy talking to my clients about their goals and aspirations. I engage individuals in conversation expressing their needs and concerns. I encourage individuals to express themselves and eliminate self-doubt. My goal is to make a difference in the lives of others.
