Sheila Howes, Nurse Practitioner
Sheila Howes, PMHNP, helps children, adolescents, teens, adults, and seniors across Minnesota achieve greater mental stability and improved quality of life through personalized, evidence-based medication management. At LifeStance Health, she partners with patients to evaluate symptoms, clarify diagnoses, and develop effective treatment plans for conditions such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD, with a focus on long-term wellness and daily functioning. With decades of clinical experience, Sheila specializes in treating anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, while also supporting individuals managing complex mental health and medical concerns. Her approach is collaborative, patient-centered, and grounded in open communication, ensuring each patient feels heard and actively involved in their care. She works with individuals across the lifespan and has experience serving diverse populations, including individuals with autism spectrum disorders, military members and veterans, and first responders. Sheila also treats a wide range of additional psychiatric conditions, offering comprehensive care tailored to each person’s unique needs. She is especially dedicated to supporting individuals who have been recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital or are navigating court-ordered treatment. Sheila understands the importance of structured, consistent follow-up care during these critical periods and focuses on medication stabilization, adherence, and reducing the risk of relapse. Her goal is to help patients regain independence, improve functioning, and successfully transition into their daily routines with confidence and support. Known for her approachable and compassionate style, Sheila believes mental health care should be both effective and accessible. She fosters a supportive environment where patients can openly discuss concerns while working toward meaningful progress. Outside of her clinical work, Sheila enjoys staying active through kickboxing, skiing, running, and biking, which helps her maintain balance and bring positive energy into her practice.
