Laura Ausmus, Nurse Practitioner
Laura Ausmus, PMHNP, helps individuals and families across Minnesota find stability, resilience, and hope through compassionate and evidence-based psychiatric care. She provides comprehensive medication management and support for children, adolescents, teens, adults, and seniors. Laura understands that each stage of life brings unique challenges, and she partners with patients to create treatment plans tailored to their needs. Whether supporting children with behavioral concerns, guiding teens through periods of transition, or helping adults manage complex conditions, she is committed to improving mental health and overall well-being for the communities she serves. Laura specializes in treating conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, as well as offering support for alcohol and drug use issues. She also works with individuals navigating depression, PTSD/trauma, and sleep disorders. Drawing on interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness, she helps patients build effective coping skills alongside medication management. Laura also serves diverse populations, including individuals with developmental disabilities, those in foster or adoptive care, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. She is especially passionate about supporting patients during vulnerable times, such as those recently discharged from psychiatric hospitalization. Laura also assists with disability-related paperwork, ensuring patients have the advocacy and documentation they need to access resources and stability. This specialized focus reflects her commitment to addressing not only mental health symptoms but also the practical challenges that affect recovery and daily life. Outside of her work at LifeStance Health, Laura enjoys a wide variety of outdoor activities including biking, hiking, and boating. She values time with her family, loves cooking and baking, and finds joy in music and attending concerts.
