Nicole Buatala, Nurse Practitioner
Nicole Buatala, PMHNP, provides compassionate, whole-person mental health care to patients across Minnesota. With a focus on medication management tailored to each individual, Nicole empowers patients through a collaborative, shared decision-making process. She serves individuals of all ages, from young children to seniors, integrating health strategies that address both mental and physical well-being. Whether navigating complex conditions or seeking support during life transitions, Nicole fosters a safe, supportive environment to help patients achieve stability and growth. Nicole is deeply passionate about perinatal mental health, PTSD/trauma, and ADHD. Her personal experiences, including navigating pregnancy while her husband was deployed during the pandemic, inspired her to specialize in perinatal mental health.
She understands the unique challenges parents face and offers empathetic, evidence-based support during pregnancy and postpartum. Additionally, Nicole’s expertise in trauma and ADHD allows her to help patients uncover resilience and develop effective coping strategies for these often-misunderstood conditions. In addition to her specialties, Nicole offers support for individuals managing anxiety, depression, and medical-related mental health challenges. Her interventions include medication management and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). She works extensively with diverse populations, including military veterans, first responders, and individuals on the autism spectrum, creating inclusive care plans tailored to their unique needs.
Outside of work, Nicole treasures time with her family, finding joy in motherhood and the companionship of her beloved pets. A DIY enthusiast, she enjoys creative projects, even when they stretch her limits, and values lifelong learning as a core part of her personal and professional journey. Nicole’s approach reflects her belief in walking alongside patients on their path to healing, no matter how challenging the journey may seem.
