Altonette Coney, Nurse Practitioner

Altonette Coney, PMHNP, is dedicated to helping adolescents, teens, and adults across North Carolina achieve greater mental wellness through personalized, evidence-informed medication management. She partners with individuals navigating conditions such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD, offering thoughtful evaluations and treatment plans designed to support stability, focus, and emotional balance. Altonette is committed to creating a supportive, respectful environment where patients feel heard and empowered in their care. She has a particular passion for working with individuals facing co-occurring mental health conditions. Altonette understands the complexity of alcohol and drug use issues and approaches treatment with both clinical precision and compassion. She collaborates closely with patients to develop strategies that address underlying concerns while promoting long-term recovery and improved quality of life. With experience gained in emergency medicine, Altonette brings a strong clinical foundation to her work in outpatient psychiatric care. She is skilled in identifying and managing a range of concerns, including anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and ADHD, and also offers support for additional mental health needs. Her approach is grounded in careful assessment, ongoing monitoring, and a focus on safe, effective medication management. Altonette proudly serves diverse populations, including individuals within the LGBTQ+ community, military members and veterans, and individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring care that is inclusive and responsive to each person’s unique experiences. Outside of her clinical work, Altonette enjoys traveling and following sports, especially football and basketball.
