Amarachi Okafor, Nurse Practitioner
Amarachi Okafor, PMHNP, is dedicated to providing holistic care that addresses the full spectrum of her clients’ mental health. Serving patients across North Carolina, she recognizes that mental wellness is shaped by both genetic and lifestyle factors. Amarachi combines psychotropic medication management, therapeutic techniques, and lifestyle guidance to create personalized care plans that promote emotional and mental freedom for her clients and their families. Amarachi has hands-on experience in both outpatient and emergency psychiatry, working with both pediatric and adult populations. Her approach integrates various aspects of a person’s life, ensuring comprehensive support to help clients navigate complex mental health challenges with clarity and compassion. Amarachi has a special focus on treating Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), an area she is particularly passionate about, and she also works extensively with clients facing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, BPD, PTSD/trauma, and life transitions. Amarachi is committed to using evidence-based techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to address deep-rooted issues and promote lasting change. She is especially focused on de-stigmatizing mental health issues among youth, young adults, and minority populations, and strives to create safe spaces where individuals can feel seen and heard. As part of her holistic approach, Amarachi provides Christian counseling to help clients find spiritual alignment alongside psychological wellness. Outside of her practice, she enjoys mentoring, advocacy, reading, cooking, fitness, and music, all of which contribute to her balanced outlook on life. Fluent in Igbo, Amarachi is proud to offer culturally competent care that respects and honors her clients’ diverse backgrounds. Her personal motto, “Be the light you want to see in others,” reflects her mission to empower individuals to become mentally fit, one day at a time, while raising awareness and fostering resilience in the community.
