Nicholas Cunningham is my new favorite provider. He is kind and understanding, while still sppearing to be very organized and professional. He is a great listener and seems to be very empathetic. He is funny, but still takes me seriously, which is a great relief, especially from a medical provider. It’s nice to not be treated like a sentient froot loop. He believes my explanations about some horrible recent trauma and prescibed me the appropriate meds at adjusted levels. I felt better after only one appt bc he really took the time to let me explained my issues, history, and experiences. He seems to have an excellent grasp on absorbing and documenting my ongoing grief, perpetual anxiety, and horrific tragedies, all while sensitively but firmly redirecting me when I get tangential - one of many issues of mine! After just 1 month, I’m already feeling a little better. He is helping me to start laying out a plan and I feel modest positivity about my future. It may not sound like much, but it’s the most progress I’ve experienced in a LOOOONG time! Thank you so much!

I’ve been a patient of Nicholas Cunningham for some time, and I can confidently say he provides excellent psychiatric care. He takes the time to truly listen and understand what you’re going through, rather than rushing appointments or relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. His explanations are clear, and he makes sure I’m comfortable with every aspect of my treatment plan. Nicholas is compassionate, knowledgeable, and professional — qualities that make a huge difference in mental health care. I appreciate how approachable he is and how he combines medical expertise with genuine empathy. I always feel heard and supported after each visit. I would highly recommend Nicholas Cunningham, MSN, PMHNP, to anyone seeking a thoughtful and thorough mental health provider.

Dr. Nicholas Cunningham is by far the best psychiatrist that I've ever encountered. He is always smiling and in great spirits when we meet. His demeanor makes me feel as if I'm his only patient. He is always engaged and truly cares about his patients; they are not dollar signs to him. He listens and hears what I have to say and works with me to find the right treatment for MY needs. I am truly grateful that I found him. Finding the right psychiatrist and therapist is everything! Especially when, if like me, you suffer from debilitating anxiety, OCD and other ailments of the mind. I would 100% recommend at least giving him a try should you be looking for someone who can meet your mental health needs! THANK YOU DR CUNNINGHAM! But seriously, you rock!

Nicholas Cunningham listened when my primary care wouldn't. Primary care made me feel terribl while Nicholas Cunningham made me feel whole, explained everything to me and was point on with it all. Made me understand its not my fault and assured me it would be okay. He listened when noone else did. Thats huge to me. Im 51 and have always struggled with focus issues, growing up this was swept under the rug and was never discussed. Now that im grown it was hard for me to open up to someone, I had anxiety before the appt but Nicholas put me right at ease.

I am so happy that I chose life stance for my counseling. I suffer with terrible anxiety and never before have I had a counselor who's taken that seriously. I was paired with Nicholas Cunningham & after only one session I know he's easy to talk to and he actually listens. I didn't feel judged nor dismissed. Tbh...I actually feel like I matter! AND THAT'S A FIRST! If I could give Nicholas 10 Stars I would! 😁~sabrina (Monroe NC)
