Kelly LaPointe is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Ohio who has been practicing since 2019. She has a Master’s of Science in Nursing, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from The Ohio State University, a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing, and an Associate of Science in Nursing from Ohio University. Kelly has more than 2 decades of nursing experience in the psychiatric field, ranging from child to adult inpatient care to community mental health crisis stabilization as well as many years in medical critical care settings. Her goal is to provide evidenced based treatment in a non-judgmental, comfortable, and trusting environment that encourages and empowers the client to be an active partner in creating an individualized care plan. Kelly’s focus is the care of patients with mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, psychosis, personality disorders and substance abuse, and chronic mental illness through assessment, medication management, interprofessional collaboration, and brief psychotherapeutic intervention. Outside of work, Kelly has been married to her husband, Glenn, for 27 years. She and her husband are adjusting to their empty-nest syndrome by sharing their house with two Newfoundlands, (one who weighs 160 pounds) one old English Sheepdog, and a tiny Silky Terrier who can hang with the big dogs. She enjoys traveling, spending time with family, reading, and watching a good movie.
