Laura Davidson, Nurse Practitioner

Dr. Laura Davidson is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Rhode Island who has been practicing since 2011. She earned a Bachelor’s of Nursing at University of Arizona, a Master’s of Nursing with PMHNP at Arizona State University, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Arizona State University. Behavioral health medications work best when combined with self-kindness, adequate sleep, and setting aside a little special time just for you. In Dr. Davidson’s experience, people seem to struggle the most with self-kindness. When we are struggling with low mood and anxiety, our inner critic becomes louder and meaner. The inner critic can be quite destructive, so it is important to decrease its power. Dr. Davidson thinks it is massively important that the client fully participates in treatment decisions. Dr. Davidson will come up with medication options and you will choose what feels right for you. She can also assist you off of mental health medications you no longer want to be on. Her options will be evidence based. Dr. Davidson enjoys client education; knowledge is truly empowering. Outside of work, Dr. Davidson enjoys making jewelry, meandering around in nature, and playing a trading card game.
