Patrick Whitfield, Nurse Practitioner
Patrick Whitfield, PMHNP, DNP, helps individuals navigate complex emotional and psychological challenges with compassion, clinical expertise, and evidence-based care. Serving patients across South Carolina through LifeStance Health, he supports children, adolescents, teens, and adults through a personalized approach that prioritizes both emotional wellness and psychiatric stability. Whether you’re facing anxiety, mood fluctuations, or navigating recovery from substance use, Patrick’s goal is to help you gain clarity, restore balance, and move forward with greater confidence. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner and prescriber, Patrick specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, ADHD, and mood disorders. He provides both medication management and individual therapy to support long-term, sustainable progress. Patrick works closely with individuals and families, including those navigating challenges related to school avoidance, sleep disorders, and life transitions. His patient-centered care model focuses on the whole person—considering medical, emotional, and situational factors to guide treatment planning and follow-through. Patrick is especially passionate about helping individuals living with schizophrenia, substance use disorders, and trauma-related conditions such as PTSD. He believes in the power of thoughtful medication management, structured behavioral approaches, and trauma-informed care to empower individuals in reclaiming their lives. He also works with specialized populations, including military veterans, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and those with a history in adoption or foster care, always honoring each patient’s unique story and needs. In addition to his clinical work, Patrick offers interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness strategies, and medical procedure evaluations. When he’s not working with patients, he enjoys boating, hiking, mountain biking, traveling, and discovering new food experiences
