Scott Farris, Nurse Practitioner
Scott Farris, PMHNP, helps adults and seniors across Tennessee navigate complex mental health challenges through compassionate, evidence-based care. Practicing at LifeStance Health, Scott offers support to individuals managing anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder—providing thoughtful medication management, therapy integration, and recovery-oriented strategies tailored to each patient’s unique needs. He serves patients ages 18 and older and is especially skilled in working with individuals who may feel overwhelmed by emotional distress or struggling with longstanding patterns of mood instability. Scott is particularly passionate about supporting individuals dealing with substance use disorders, psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). With years of clinical experience in both outpatient and intensive settings, he brings a trauma-informed lens to every encounter. His approach is rooted in understanding the intersection of mental health and identity, and he provides a safe, inclusive space for members of the LGBTQ+ community, helping them feel heard, affirmed, and empowered throughout their mental health journey. In addition to his primary focus areas, Scott also offers care for individuals navigating life transitions, grief, and co-occurring conditions. His interventions include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and CBT for Insomnia, integrated into comprehensive medication management when appropriate. Patients can also access group therapy, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and partial hospitalization programs (PHP) as part of their treatment plan. Scott provides additional mental health services beyond those listed, tailored to meet a wide range of clinical needs in Tennessee. Outside of his professional work, Scott enjoys studying film, exploring music, and caring for his pets—pursuits that reflect his creativity and deep sense of empathy.
