Bradley Vessel, Nurse Practitioner
I truly believe that Mental Health is fundamental at every stage of life, from childhood
and adolescence through adulthood. It is also my belief that every individual is unique
with varying perspectives about life. From the initial interaction, I focus on providing an
environment that is safe, comfortable, non-judgmental, and culturally sensitive. This
environment provides an opportunity to collaborate and establish a positive relationship
with my clients. I am trained in the use of medication management, brief
psychotherapy, and relaxation techniques to help individuals reach their desired goals. I
have experience in treating a range of psychiatric conditions including depression,
bipolar disorder, anxiety, personality disorders, trauma-related disorders, substance
addiction and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. My goal is to support and work
collaboratively with my clients as they explore all aspects of themselves while working
toward their treatment goals.
I am both board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health
Nurse practitioner. I obtained my undergraduate degree in nursing as well as my
graduate degree 6 years later as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Southern University. I
went on to pursue my Psychiatric graduate training at the University of Texas Rio
Grande Valley 14 years later. I am also a war veteran currently serving in the Texas
Army National Guard as a commander and medical provider.
I have been fortunate to have gained experience in providing medical and psychiatric
services in a wide variety of settings including inpatient units, emergency departments,
correctional facilities, military, detox, residential, inpatient substance abuse, and skilled
nursing facilities.
