Elaine Wessel is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the Brookfield, Wisconsin office. With a background in Family Practice and Women’s Health Nursing, she entered the Mental Health field in 2015 and graduated in 2021 with her MSN from Alverno College. Elaine has worked with clients in the inpatient, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP) settings, and has a special interest in treating depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Elaine offers comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management tailored to each unique client’s needs. She believes in a collaborative relationship with her clients with the goal to work together to manage mental health challenges, promote physical and emotional wellness, and improve quality of life. Elaine practices gender-affirming care and provides a safe space where patients can be their authentic selves.

In her spare time Elaine enjoys singing in a local chorus, supporting the performing arts and local animal welfare organizations, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family.

I first met Elaine when she was working at Rogers Behavioral Center over a year ago, and then followed her to LifeStance because I liked working with her so much. She is extremely genuine and caring and listened to all of my concerns that I had about previous medications I was taking. She always asks how I am adjusting to medications and is open to adjusting things as necessary. I look forward to seeing her at each appointment. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who is down to earth and knowledgeable about mental health and psychiatric medications.

I have seen my fair share of mental health professionals in the past- I genuinely felt like Elaine cared about me and my wellbeing. The initial consult was similar to every other clinic - with a series of questions to better understand the patients struggles to narrow down diagnosis and treatment. In comparison to previous providers, I have never felt more comfortable meeting a new doctor for the first time as I did with her. I felt no judgement and by the end of our appointment I had a clear treatment plan and left feeling relieved.

I like it I feel I could get help for the first time in my life Elaine Wessel made me open up so comfortably. I feel it’s hard for me to open up about my problems I have been through in life.but for some reason Mrs Elaine made me look at a lot of things in life different I feel she is Genuine in welling to help me with her Best ability I love her personality.

Absolutely love this place I love the employees my counselor my psychiatrist they are both awesome and I couldn't ask for better help finally they care about their patients they're very thorough and I would recommend them to my family I think that says it all

It doesn’t take long to get in and the providers are all very helpful and kind. I’ve only had a few appointments with a therapist and psychiatrist and I already feel like I have help and I feel looser and calmer.
