Daniel Simons, Psychiatrist
During his residency at Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Simons received extensive training in both medication management and psychotherapy. He routinely incorporates biological, psychological, and social factors into his treatment approach. Some of his areas of interest include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and psychotic disorders. While he primarily provides medication management, he is also well versed in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based therapy.
Dr. Simons provides care to adult patients up to age 64 and has a particular interest in the young adult population. He strives to provide an affirming environment for patients from all backgrounds and recognizes the importance of culturally sensitive care. Dr. Simons received his undergraduate degree from Rice University in Houston, Texas. He received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in the Texas Medical Center, where he also completed his general psychiatry residency program. He trained at a diverse collection of clinical sites including The Menninger Clinic, the VA hospital system, the correctional system, both public and private health care systems, and neuromodulation centers.
