Penelope Libeu, Psychiatrist
Dr. Penelope Libeu is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist and has been in practice since 2018. She received her BA from UC Berkeley, earned her medical degree from Rush Medical College, and graduated from Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s psychiatry residency program.
Dr. Libeu’s approach to improving mental health is multidisciplinary and may include combining medication(s) with psychotherapy, group therapy, relationship (couple’s) therapy, and making lifestyle changes to improve your overall well-being, e.g. improving sleep hygiene, reducing alcohol/drug consumption, increasing cardiovascular exercise, starting a meditation practice, volunteering in one’s community, increasing social connections, and engaging with one’s natural surroundings, to name a few. Dr. Libeu’s specific area of expertise is in psychopharmacology (medication management) and she has a special interest in treating patients suffering from mood and anxiety problems, as well as Women’s Mental Health during pre-conception, pregnancy, and the postpartum period of life.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones, playing with her children, and exercising in the great outdoors.
