Brent Menninger is a Medical Doctor who has been practicing since 1993. He graduated from The University of Kansas in Lawrence KS and completed his residency at the Karl Menninger School of Psychiatry in Topeka, KS. Dr. Menninger has been a Staff Psychiatrist at multiple hospitals in the state, along with being Chairman for the Department of Psychiatry at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association.

Dr. Menninger believes in a holistic approach to psychiatric care, which includes treating the body and the mind, by using the basics of good health. The basics of good health are exercise, sleep, and diet. A healthy mind resides inside a healthy body.

His main areas of focus are anxiety and depressive disorders but does also treat a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, attention and focus disorders, and sleep disorders.

In his spare time, Brent enjoys staying active outdoors by mountain or trail bicycling.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Menninger for approximately 13 years. I have had a handful of psychiatrists in the past, and by far he has been the best one. He works with me on my medications, and provides me with helpful literature at each appointment. He’s saved my skin multiple times in the past, and each time I had a preauthorization/some other kind of insurance issue in regards to my medication, he has been unbelievably quick to address whatever issue is at hand. The very rare times when there was an issue with billing in which there was a discrepancy or confusion in my payment/past payments, he has personally stepped in and resolved the issues immediately. His staff has always been courteous and efficient. I know that I am listened to in my appointments, and I know that Dr. Menninger takes extra care and attention in each of his patients.

Dr. Menninger has been amazing! We met about 7 ( or more?) years ago as doctor/ patient. I am a mental health practitioner and have also personally seen numerous psychiatrists. He listens, gives honest feedback, he works in collaboration with his patients too! He runs on-time and has virtual or in- person availability. The office staff are warm and helpful and while much of their systems are automated they do answer the phone and you can get human assistance if you need it. I've also met with Angel Dossett, NP ( in the Lawrence office) and she is extremely compassionate, knowledgeable, and provides a sense of hope when all else feels like it's failed. I highly recommend this practice.

I highly recommend Dr. Menninger. I've been a patient for over 3 years. He is by far the best Dr. I've seen over a 20+ year span of different doctors. Very detail oriented when describing treatment options and handles complex cases with ease. He connected me with the best psychologist I've seen as well. Dr. Menninger remains relevant with new treatment options as well as utilizing older established treatment methods to ensure the most personalized approach is being administered.

Yes, I recommend Dr. Menninger. I appreciate that he is always on time. His years of experienced has really help me get back on track. He listens well and then makes real world suggestions. He is also experienced with treating many issues at the same time. He shows compassion, however he will not work harder to get you well, than you will, to get you well. You are both in it together. -I appreciate the office staff as well, they are courteous, concise, and most of all discrete

Dr. Menninger and his staff are great! He is by far the easiest Doctor to talk to that I have ever met with. He truly listens to what you have to say and always knows how to help. Changed my life and since my first appointment with Dr. Menninger, my quality of life, both personal and professional, have improved exponentially. If you are looking for help and haven't been able to find it, don't give up, try to get in with him or someone in his office. Greatly appreciated!

Dr. Menninger is great. I’ve been a patient for over 10 years and have only had positive experiences. I was referred by an old co-worker who also had only positive experiences. He’s professional, understanding and seems to have a great sense of humor. Easy to talk to. When I voiced a concern to the schedulers about post partum issues they were able to get me in the very next day. I felt like they were really concerned about my mental health and took me seriously.
