Almos Nagy, Psychiatrist
Dr. Nagy obtained his medical degree in Budapest, Hungary at Semmelweis University Medical School in 1994. He started his psychiatric residency at Saint John’s Hospital in Budapest. He came to the United States in 1997 for psychotherapy training in Concord, NH. Later he was involved with psychiatric research through Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He returned to psychiatry residency training between 2004 and 2007 at Tufts New Medical Center in Boston and then at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. He also had training while at Dartmouth in the fields of Neuropsychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry. He was an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine and then was an instructor at the BU Medical School. Between 2010 and 2014 Dr. Nagy practiced Psychiatry at the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester as a staff psychiatrist treating outpatients and to a lesser extent inpatients at the Cypress Center. As a general and geriatric psychiatrist, Dr. Nagy has experience in diagnosing and providing psychopharmacological treatment to patients with a wide range of mental health conditions, including depressive disorders, trauma related and anxiety conditions, bipolar spectrum disorders, psychotic disorders as well as addiction related conditions. From 2014 to 2020 Dr. Nagy worked at the Bedford, Massachusetts VA Medical Center as the program psychiatrist for the severely mental illness (SMI) program, for which he received the I CARE award of the VA Medical Center. In his role as an attending psychiatrist at the Bedford VA he mentored physician assistant and medical students as well as resident physicians. He also served at the Bedford Veterans Administration in advisory and review capacity as a member of the Professional Standard Board. Dr. Almos Nagy, M.D. is a Board Certified psychiatrist with 10 years experience in mental health treatment of adults. Dr. Nagy received his Board Certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 2013. He is licensed to practice medicine in the field of Psychiatry in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.¯
