Dr. Hatesohl is excellent! His clinical approach includes listening to the patient, looking at the whole picture of the patient's life and making decisions based on their medical history and current status. I think he really fosters excellent patient-doctor trust. --- With that said, Lifestance as an organization leaves a lot to be desired. If you can get past my experiences detailed below in this commentary, i believe it was worth it for me to battle through it. --- The intake process with LifeStance was absolutely horrible and far less than professional. I spent nearly fifteen hours on the phone trying to schedule my first appointment—an experience marked by frustration and exasperation. The phone system is broken: endless menus, no way to reach a local office, and mind-numbing hold music that still echoes in my head. The billing department refuses to respond via the patient portal, which appears nonfunctional—none of my messages to/from billing were ever read or answered. Beyond these operational failures, LifeStance is dangerously close to violating federal and state law by refusing to provide a transparent opt-out process for its Health Information Exchange (HIE). I cited these issues in a formal letter to the Kelly Kirk, the local who is no longer with LifeStance. In that letter, I documented how staff at the Beavercreek and Huber Heights offices—and Mr. Kirk himself—insisted that I could not proceed with care unless I agreed to full HIE participation. This is not only factually incorrect, it is unlawful. HIPAA and Ohio Revised Code §§ 3798.06 and 3798.07 guarantee patients the right to restrict disclosure of their Protected Health Information. LifeStance’s own privacy policy affirms this right. Yet in practice, I was denied care unless I surrendered my data under duress. When I attempted to discuss this, Mr. Kirk interrupted me repeatedly, raised his voice, and refused a respectful exchange. Staff were similarly dismissive and inflexible, compounding the issue. In the end Lifestance sent me a letter stating that they would opt me out of the health information exchange, so I finalized onboarding with them. This coercive and aggressive approach to patient rights is unacceptable. I’ve documented these violations and prepared formal complaints for submission to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. I haven't sent these yet because i'm giving Lifestance a chance to reach out to me to address their deficiencies. I urge LifeStance to review its intake procedures, staff conduct, and legal compliance protocols immediately.

Dr. Hatesohl is nothing short of amazing. He has been a literal lifesaver for myself and truly my family. He takes the time to get to know you and help understand what is going on and how to best treat whatever is happening to you. He tries to get to the root of the issue and help you go forward instead of putting a band-aid on your problem. He understands that each problem is tailored just for you, and he helps combat that in a way that is rare and exceptional. Dr. Hatesohl is a perfect example of how a psychiatrist should help their patients, I should know I've been a Psychiatry patient for over 25+ years. If I would have been able to find someone like him so long ago, I probably wouldn't have as intense of issues as I do now. However, I can't look backwards and am blessed I have him in my corner now.

He is absolutely Amazing! I was nervous to go to a male Dr because I am female and gave always seen female doctors, however he is the best! I had seen 3 psychiatrist in a year, non who really help me find the right meds. Dr Hatesohl, basically interviewed me or asked lots of in-depth questions to find out my family history, my history and how I was doing before prescribing meds. We did have to try a couple meds before we found what’s right, but you have to do that anywhere. He is very thorough, professional, understanding and kind! I highly recommend him to anyone and everyone looking for A psychiatrist who will actually listen to you.

Dr Michael Hatesohl is easier to talk to than any other Dr I have been able to communicate with. I never feel rushed. I feel respected & understood as a patient & I’m very satisfied with my treatment options. It was easy to make an appointment through LifeStance & the hours are flexible! Most importantly, if I have a question or concern outside of my scheduled appointment, I am able to communicate w/medical staff & they’re always there to accommodate my needs. So thankful.

I'm pleased to report that my selection of Dr. Hatesohl to provide health services resulted in a very positive outcome. Dr. Hatesohl presented a very professional approach to clarifying my issues, and we discussed the many facets of positive outcomes possible. A caring attitude was evident. Dr Hatesohl concluded the session with clearly defined next steps. You would be wise to schedule an appointment with Dr. Hatesohl.

Very thorough and thoughtful in discussing and diagnosing problems I am going through. Genuinely cares about me as a patient. Listens to your concerns and addresses them. Works closely with the patient regarding the tweaking of medications and dosages to get you where you need to be, chemically balanced. 10 on a scale of 10z
