Shamima Khan, MD, is a highly rated psychiatrist who’s board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. A proud member of the LifeStance Health, PLLC, team in Houston, Texas, Dr. Khan treats individuals with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, thought process disorders, substance abuse disorders, PTSD, personality disorders, and eating disorders.
Dr. Khan earned her medical degree from the renowned medical school, Dhaka Medical College in Bangladesh. She later completed a general psychiatry and primary care internship at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Dr. Khan went on to finish her general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the Austin Medical Education Programs Department of Psychiatry in Austin.
She currently sees patients at the Round Rock office in Austin, Texas, working with children who have suffered from emotional, learning, and behavioral difficulties, as well as developmental disabilities. Prior to joining the hospital, Dr. Khan worked at Riverside University Health System, Behavioral Health in Moreno Valley, California, providing evidence-based psychiatric care to Riverside County residents with significant mental health challenges. She also worked at Fort Hood Army Medical Center in Fort Hood, Texas, for nearly eight years, where she delivered comprehensive mental health care to active-duty service members.
