Dr. Schwei has a strong background in child and adolescent psychiatry and is especially passionate about supporting patients through developmental and lifespan transitions. He understands that emotional and behavioral health needs often change over time, from early childhood and school-related challenges to adulthood, parenting, and later-life adjustments. He also has experience treating childhood behavioral concerns, school avoidance, trauma-related conditions, and sleep disorders. With decades of clinical experience since beginning practice in 1986, Dr. Schwei integrates medication management with evidence-based strategies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques when appropriate. Dr. Schwei earned his medical education from University of California, San Diego School of Medicine and completed additional training through UCLA and University of California – San Diego.
