Laura Cavarretta, Psychologist
Most therapists (including me) can teach you coping skills to manage your depression and anxiety. I believe that it is even more important to discover the roots of your depression and anxiety. These symptoms are telling you that something is wrong; something which needs to be identified, addressed, and healed. I want to assist you in uncovering the maladaptive patterns in your relationships, self-care, school and/or career which have not served you. We will work together to develop new goals and a treatment plan to help you accomplish these goals.
I am a licensed psychologist and have worked with individual adults, couples, and adolescents and their families for over 25 years. My clients find that my experience allows me to quickly help you identify what isn’t working for you in your life, and pinpoint symptoms which we will address. I believe that our body, mind, spirit, and soul must all work together to create a life worth living. Looking forward to meeting you soon!
A bit about me; I studied Psychology at the University of Colorado in Boulder, and continued my education at the Fuller Graduate School of Psychology where I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. I interned at the Orange County Child Guidance Center and Kaiser Permanente. I have enjoyed working with clients of all ages, particularly adolescents and adults. I have practiced in outpatient clinics as well as residential treatment centers with adults and adolescents, specializing in both mental health and the treatment of substance use. I enjoy spending time with my husband, three young adult children, practicing yoga, and reading both fiction and non-fiction.
