Cheryl Pfent, Psychologist
Dr. Cheryl Pfent has been licensed as a clinical psychologist for over 30 years. She received her Doctorate from Florida Institute of Technology. She completed her internship at UNC School of Medicine. She has worked extensively in a variety of clinical venues as a provider and supervisor of other clinicians and interns. Dr. Pfent used her training in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma informed care, and solution focused therapy to treat a client population ranging in age from adolescent to geriatric clients. She worked with individuals, couples, and families guiding them in dealing their mental health issues. During this time Dr. Pfent was appointed to the Board of Directors of California Institute of Mental Health.
Dr. Pfent began her career as a Registered Nurse but when mental illness struck her family she felt compelled to advance her education to better understand mental illness and deal with issues facing her family member from a position of knowledge. She comes to the field of Psychology with a personal and unique perspective.
