Daniel Greenstein, Psychologist
Daniel Greenstein, Psy.D., helps adults build stability, insight, and practical skills to navigate life’s most complex emotional and behavioral challenges. He provides individual therapy for adults and seniors across Illinois, offering evidence-based mental health care that is both compassionate and clinically grounded. His approach emphasizes collaboration, clarity, and respect, creating a space where patients can work toward meaningful change and improved daily functioning. With decades of experience as a licensed psychologist, Dr. Greenstein treats concerns such as anxiety, depression, and trauma-related conditions, while also addressing mood regulation, stress management, and major life transitions. He works with adults across the lifespan, including older adults navigating later-life adjustments, and integrates care for co-occurring medical or health-related concerns when relevant. His clinical work draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), along with additional evidence-based approaches as appropriate. A core passion of Dr. Greenstein’s practice is supporting individuals navigating high-stakes or transitional circumstances. He has extensive experience working with people recently discharged from psychiatric hospitalization, individuals involved in court-ordered treatment, and those managing current legal matters. In these situations, he focuses on stabilization, accountability, and forward planning, helping patients strengthen coping strategies, meet treatment requirements, and re-establish a sense of control and direction. Dr. Greenstein has experience serving populations including military members and veterans, first responders, and individuals within the LGBTQ+ community, while also offering care tailored to men’s and women’s mental health needs. He has been in clinical practice since 1995 and brings a steady, thoughtful presence to each therapeutic relationship. Outside of his professional work, Dr. Greenstein enjoys walking and hiking, cooking, and spending quality time with his family.
