Rachel Hughes, Psychologist
Dr. Rachel Hughes is a Psychologist in Illinois who has been practicing since 2016. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from California Baptist University, a Master’s Degree from Azusa Pacific University, and a Doctorate Degree from Azusa Pacific University. Dr. Hughes has experience working with a range of people from diverse backgrounds. She typically works with children, adolescents, and young adults. Most of her experience comes from a trauma background, specifically child abuse and sexual assault, but also with a wide range of childhood and adolescent diagnoses and symptoms. Dr. Hughes also has extensive experience doing psychological and neuropsychological assessments for the lifespan, but mainly for childhood disorders including ADHD and Autism Spectrum. Dr. Hughes comes from an attachment and interpersonal theory perspective. This means she looks at patterns from an individual’s early caregivers, as well as current interpersonal interactions and utilizes those to understand an individual’s current presentation and distress while providing insight that invokes change. Outside of work, Dr. Hughes enjoys watching sports, reading, and attending concerts. When she can, she enjoys traveling and exploring new places, cultures, and foods.
