Christopher Welch, Psychologist
Dr. Welch utilizes a curious, empathic, encouraging and pragmatic style to therapy with adolescents and adults who are experiencing challenges related to depression/anger, mood, anxiety and trauma, family conflict, and emotional regulation/behavioral control. He has a particular interest and specializes in assisting individuals who are in the process of negotiating the myriad changes associated with transitions that occur during adolescence through early adulthood, such as individuation, perceived inadequacy/impostor syndrome, identity confusion and relationship concerns. Dr. Welch often employs cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness approaches, notably Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), in conjunction with stress reduction and relaxation techniques to foster the development and application of skills that help clients to realize the changes they desire.
