Delinda Mercer, Psychologist
Dr. Mercer has a master’s degree in Psychological Services and a PhD in Professional Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, and a post-doctoral master’s degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology from Alliant International University. She has been licensed as a psychologist since 1991 and has been working in this field for over thirty years. Prior to coming to Portland, she was a clinical psychologist at Regional West Health Services in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, where she worked in the outpatient clinic, was the Clinical Coordinator for the inpatient unit, consulted on the Rehabilitation unit and did consults throughout the hospital setting. Prior to that, she was an instructor, an addiction researcher and a therapist for the dually diagnosed population at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Mercer primarily does therapy, evaluation and supervision. She is Contributing Faculty for Walden University, where she teaches Clinical Psychopharmacology to graduate students in clinical psychology. She is certified in EMDR and is a NAADAC Master Addiction Counselor. Dr. Mercer’s therapeutic approach is to be humanistic and insight-oriented and she employs CBT and DBT strategies as well as EMDR.
