Dr. Janice Puder is a neuropsychologist who specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing challenges related to learning, attention, executive functioning, autism, and social emotional development. She is passionate about helping individuals and families better understand how a person learns, thinks, processes information, and experiences the world, using assessment as a tool to uncover both strengths and areas of challenge while providing insight into the relationship between brain functioning, behavior, learning, and development.

Dr. Puder takes a strengths based and collaborative approach to evaluation, helping clients and families gain meaningful insight, diagnostic clarity, and practical recommendations that can be implemented across home, school, and community settings. Drawing on years of experience working directly in educational environments, she understands the real world challenges faced by students, families, and educators and is committed to developing recommendations that are both individualized and realistic. Her background in educational consultation, executive functioning coaching, behavioral intervention, and therapeutic services allows her to bridge the gap between assessment findings and meaningful supports that foster long term growth and success.

Dr. Puder earned her PhD in School Psychology and Master’s degree in Therapeutic Interventions from Fordham University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Education from Villanova University. She completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at Envisage Neuropsychology, where she specialized in the assessment of autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and executive functioning challenges. In addition to her clinical work, she serves as an adjunct professor at Fordham University, teaching graduate level courses in intellectual assessment and personality assessment. Her professional experience spans public and charter schools, the New York City Department of Education, preschools, special education programs, and specialized autism services, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of child development, learning differences, and educational systems.

A particular area of expertise for Dr. Puder is Autism Spectrum Disorder, especially presentations that may be overlooked or identified later in life. Her research focuses on how autism can present differently in girls and women, who may be more likely to mask their difficulties, develop compensatory strategies, or exhibit characteristics that do not align with traditional diagnostic stereotypes. She developed the Scale for Autism in Females (SAF), an assessment tool designed specifically to explore the female autism phenotype, which is currently undergoing the publication process. Through both her clinical and research work, Dr. Puder is passionate about improving recognition and understanding of these often underidentified presentations.

Whether working with a preschooler, a college student, or an adult seeking answers later in life, Dr. Puder believes that the best evaluations help individuals and families make sense of the bigger picture. Her goal is for every client to leave feeling understood and equipped with meaningful recommendations that support growth and real world success.
