Elaine Walen, Psychologist

Dr. Elaine Walen is a licensed Psychologist in Rhode Island with a strong background in developmental psychology. Her Bachelor’s degree is in early childhood development, and she was a second-grade teacher. She has Master’s degrees in developmental psychology and educational psychology, and a doctoral degree in counseling psychology. Dr. Walen is currently providing affirming care through full-battery psychological and neuropsychological assessments across the lifespan. She accepts a range of ages from toddlers to the aged for diagnosis of autism, cognitive decline and memory issues, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and more severe psychopathology. Dr. Walen has a clinical background in facilitating groups, providing model-specific therapy with DBT, EMDR, SFBT, and couples therapy, and individual therapy with children, adolescents, and adults. In her free time, Dr. Walen loves to be active outside hiking, biking, skiing, and swimming. She enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
