Laura Valois, Psychologist

Laura Valois has been a licensed clinician in Rhode Island since 2017. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish from Fairfield University in Connecticut and her Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Latino Mental Health and Children and Families of Adversity and Resilience from William James College in Massachusetts. She completed her post-doctoral internship at Gershon Psychological Associates in Rhode Island. In addition to her work as a therapist and evaluator at LifeStance, she also teaching Doctoring at Brown Medical School. Laura provides patient-centered care that aims to enhance a person’s strengths and values. She pulls from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Relational/Psychodynamic Psychology, and other methods of treatment to individualize care for each person. She has a special interest in working with historically underserved populations, such as people in the LGBTQ+ and Latinx communities. In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time with her family. She loves to travel, to read, and to build Legos!
