Sandra McCloy, Psychologist

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida, a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of South Carolina, School of Medicine, and a doctorate in Educational Psychology and Research from USC. She taught and conducted research at the college/university level for 14 years, earning tenure before transitioning to private practice in 2013 to devote herself to full-time clinical work. Dr. McCloy provides academic, psychological, and neuropsychological testing for ages 5 and above as well as therapy for adults. Her primary areas of assessment interest include, but are not limited to, general mental health, learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and processing differences. She conducts comprehensive, individualized evaluations. Her primary therapeutic focus is depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and socialization struggles. Dr. McCloy predominantly utilizes cognitive behavioral strategies, such as acceptance and commitment therapy; however, she chooses her treatment modalities specific to the needs of each client.
