Tarrah Ashley Oktavec, Therapist
Tarrah Oktavec, LMFT, provides compassionate and individualized mental health support to children, adolescents, and adults across California. She helps clients navigate life’s challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions, by creating a safe and understanding therapeutic environment. Through individual and family therapy, Tarrah works closely with her clients to develop personalized treatment plans that promote resilience, healing, and personal growth.
Tarrah is particularly passionate about addressing childhood behavior issues, PTSD/trauma, and substance use disorders. She understands the complexities these challenges present and uses evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, to guide clients toward meaningful change. Her work with children and adolescents focuses on empowering families to build healthy relationships and improve communication while fostering emotional well-being.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Tarrah has extensive experience supporting first responders, military veterans, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. She recognizes the unique needs of these populations and provides tailored care to address the mental health concerns they may face. Her approach integrates mindfulness practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and parenting skills training to ensure clients receive well-rounded, compassionate support.
Outside of her professional work, Tarrah enjoys volunteering at concerts, food events, and science-related activities. She finds fulfillment in assisting youth, engaging in creative projects, and continuously expanding her knowledge. A dedicated plant enthusiast, she finds joy in nurturing growth and connecting with the environment. In her quiet moments, Tarrah can often be found reading or working on an art project, embracing peace and tranquility.
