Cyndi Parkes, Therapist
Cindy Parkes, LCSW, offers compassionate and experienced mental health care to individuals across California. She supports adolescents, teens, and adults through life’s most complex emotional challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and sleep disturbances. At LifeStance Health, Cindy provides individualized therapy that emphasizes both healing and personal empowerment, helping her patients develop new tools to manage distress and move forward with confidence.
Cindy is especially passionate about working with individuals experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, and sleep disorders. Whether addressing the lingering effects of PTSD, the emotional weight of grief or divorce, or the struggles of insomnia, she provides a calm and supportive space where healing can begin. Her therapeutic approach draws on evidence-based techniques like EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and CBT for Insomnia, allowing her to customize treatment to meet each patient’s needs. Cindy also incorporates mindfulness and faith-based interventions for those who wish to explore a more spiritual path to recovery.
In addition to her focus on mood and trauma-related conditions, Cindy offers specialized support for first responders, military veterans, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. She has a deep understanding of the unique challenges these populations face and works with them to process difficult experiences, rebuild resilience, and restore a sense of identity and well-being. Cindy also addresses broader concerns such as midlife and later-life transitions, postpartum issues, and women’s mental health.
Outside of her clinical work, Cindy finds joy and balance through hiking, dancing, horseback riding, singing, and creating pastel art. She values time with family and friends and brings that same warmth and connection into her therapeutic relationships.
