Kimberly Thurman, Therapist
Kimberly Thurman, LMFT, helps children, adolescents, teens, and adults across California find stability, healing, and renewed direction through compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. As a Marriage & Family Therapist with LifeStance Health, she provides individual, couples, and family therapy tailored to each stage of life. Kimberly supports clients navigating anxiety, depression, and trauma, offering practical tools and a supportive environment where individuals and families can build resilience, improve relationships, and move forward with confidence. She is dedicated to working with individuals facing complex and high-acuity situations, including those recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital, involved in court ordered treatment, or navigating a current legal matter. Kimberly brings a steady, structured, and compassionate approach to these circumstances, helping clients stabilize, rebuild trust in themselves, and develop coping strategies that promote long-term wellness and accountability. Kimberly’s clinical focus includes anxiety, PTSD/trauma, and depression, while also supporting a wide range of additional mental health concerns. She has experience working with children and adolescents, including those with behavioral challenges, as well as families navigating conflict or life transitions. Her work also includes supporting diverse populations such as individuals in foster or adoptive systems, those with developmental disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Kimberly integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), along with additional evidence-based approaches, to help clients build emotional regulation, strengthen coping skills, and achieve meaningful progress. Outside of her clinical work, Kimberly enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, running, and appreciating nature. She values time with her husband, children, and dogs, and enjoys playing softball, watching sports, listening to audiobooks, and connecting with friends and family.
