Jennifer Villar, Therapist

I am a bilingual licensed mental health therapist. I obtained my master’s degree from University of Phoenix. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Child Development from California State University of Los Angeles. Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a special education teacher. Having students with mental and behavioral issues, made me realize that I wanted to help others outside the classroom. Thus, I began my counseling education/career. I began working as a therapist in a wraparound program focusing on providing mental health services, and resources to children and their families due to general neglect, abuse, domestic violence, and trauma. I now work with adolescents and adults and enjoy helping those with anxiety, stress, self-esteem, adjusting to new phases in life, and processing trauma. I am a cognitive behavioral therapist, and also have experience in motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic therapy. Overall, we can work together to review what is working and not working for you, and give you the confidence and tools to make your own choices in your life.
