Cheyenne Jones, Therapist
Cheyenne’s approach to counseling is based on empathy, authenticity and positive regard. When you begin, you’ll share your goals and hopes, and, together with Cheyenne, you’ll create a plan with actionable steps that’ll lead you toward your best life. Cheyenne will accompany you in your journey towards self-actualization, acting as support when you need it, and as a guide whenever you might feel lost. Along the way, you’ll learn how to change your own behaviors, feelings, and even self-concepts, always adventuring forward at a pace that is secure and comfortable for you. Cheyenne uses tools, techniques, and interventions to create counseling “experiences” from which you are able to learn, process, and heal. You’ll learn how to generalize these into your everyday life, creating health and wholeness. Cheyenne uses a wide range of methods to support your healing, including, for example, mindfulness, and somatic (body) as well as movement-based techniques to help you connect your mind, body, and spirit. Some of the counseling modalities Cheyenne borrows from include Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Existential Theory, Trauma Informed Yoga, Mindfulness Based Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Nutrition, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. As your counselor, Cheyenne will facilitate your exploration of ‘Self’ and ‘World’ so you are able to gain insight and awareness, which allows you to experience a new way of thinking, acting, and being. These are important stepping stones on your path towards growth and positive change. Cheyenne has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Boise State University and a Master of Counseling Degree in Clinical Mental Health from Idaho State University. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado, and a Registered Yoga Teacher. She has around ten years of experience working with adults, couples, and groups experiencing trauma issues, anxiety, depression, body-image and self esteem issues, anger issues, relationship and communication difficulties, life transitions, and more.
