Aubree Kocher has spent over twenty years devoted to the enrichment and education of children and their families. Working as an elementary school music teacher in all grade levels, she taught the fundamentals of elementary music, providing a supportive and skill building environment for students of all learning capacities. Additionally, she provided home piano instruction for many students and their families. In 2015, Aubree shifted her focus from education to marriage and family therapy, pursuing and receiving her master’s degree. Volunteering for Salvation Army for over 2 years as a counselor in their residential rehabilitation facility in Honolulu, she saw the great need to reach the families of clients with substance abuse and economic hardships. Following her volunteer position, Aubree went on to find a deeper passion for working with Hawaii’s youth as an Intensive In-home therapist, with certification in treating anxiety disorders in children and adolescents. Utilizing a blend of cognitive, person-centered, narrative and family systems approaches, she works to help individuals and families face and overcome their challenges, developing healthy coping skills tailored to their individual need. Aubree has a passion for helping individuals take the risk to be honest with themselves, make the necessary change, and move into a positive future. “Our lives improve only when we take chances – and the first and most difficult risk we can take is to be honest with ourselves.” ~Walter Anderson.
