Alexis Cislo, Therapist
Alexis Cislo is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with nine years of clinical experience helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges and improve their emotional well-being. She works with teens, adults, and families facing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and relationship difficulties. Alexis believes therapy is most effective when it meets people where they are. Her approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based care. She focuses on understanding both the individual and the systems around them, such as family dynamics and life circumstances, to support meaningful and lasting change. Alexis specializes in treating trauma, anxiety, and depression, including trauma-related conditions such as PTSD. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and integrates multiple therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to help patients build emotional awareness, develop healthy coping skills, and process difficult experiences in a safe and structured environment. Her therapeutic style is warm, understanding, and practical. Clients often describe her as relatable and supportive while also encouraging them to challenge unhelpful patterns and work toward their full potential. Alexis works with teens ages 15–17 and adults through early and middle adulthood, offering both individual and family therapy tailored to each person’s goals and life stage. In addition to her specialties, Alexis has experience supporting individuals facing substance use concerns and co-occurring mental health conditions. She is also committed to providing an affirming and respectful space for members of the LGBTQ+ community. Alexis earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Colorado Denver and her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University Denver. Outside of her clinical work, Alexis enjoys spending time outdoors year-round. She loves hiking, biking, attending sporting events, watching sports, playing games, and spending time with her husband and two young sons.
