Jen Jerez, Therapist
Jen Jerez is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) with a comprehensive background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and substance use counseling. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of South Florida and her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Counseling from Walden University, where she developed a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and culturally responsive care.
Jen provides therapy for individuals, couples, and families, with a strong focus on serving the LGBTQ+ community. She works with clients facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, identity exploration, substance use, and relational issues. Her CBT-based approach is practical and empowering, helping clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, build coping strategies, and move toward lasting change.
With significant experience in correctional settings, Jen brings a deep understanding of the intersection between trauma, systemic challenges, and mental health. She offers a nonjudgmental, restorative space for individuals with justice-involved backgrounds, including those in recovery or navigating co-occurring disorders.
Jen is also deeply committed to LGBTQ+ affirming care and works to create a therapeutic space where all identities are respected and celebrated. In her couples and family work, she supports open communication, healing from conflict, and building stronger, more connected relationships.
Her experience in substance use treatment includes both individual recovery work and family support, incorporating relapse prevention planning, harm reduction strategies, and support for co-occurring mental health conditions.
Outside of her clinical work, Jen enjoys spending time with her dog, daughter, and husband, reading, swimming, and connecting with friends.
