Patricia Borno has practiced psychotherapy in Orlando, Florida for the last 33 years. She comes from a military family living up and down the East Coast and is married to a first responder and has two daughters. She obtained her MSW from Florida State University with primary training in cognitive behavioral therapy. She has experience across the spectrum in psychiatric care including at the acute care psychiatric hospital, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, residential, and outpatient clinic levels of care.Tricia has extensive practice experience with the 11 to 18 age group working for ten years in a private psychiatric hospital setting providing crisis intervention for an adolescent acute care program. She also conducted individual, group, and family therapy for a residential adolescent treatment program for five years. Across all ages, Tricia helps people experience relief from relationship struggles, anxiety, depression, shame, and inner criticism teaching cognitive behavioral techniques that promote self-understanding and compassion.Tricia has amassed over 30 years of extensive clinical experience in the mental health field. She has experience in treating mood, thought, and behavioral issues. She has an eclectic approach to counseling using cognitive behavioral therapy and a person-centered approach that recognizes and respects the uniqueness of each individual she works with. She is always on the hunt for more resources to use for bibliotherapy and creative therapeutic approaches.
