Margaret Cornwell, Therapist
Margaret (Meg) Cornwell is a licensed mental health counselor who has been practicing since 1991. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Mary Washington University in Fredericksberg, Virginia. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology.
Meg believes in a client centered approach that employs a variety of techniques, based on the individual’s needs. She draws heavily from cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, which have years of research validating their effectiveness. She treats a wide array of problems, with a particular focus on the treatment of depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Additionally, she does therapy with individuals dealing with a variety of life stressors, including grief, health problems, work issues, and relationship problems. She also provides Christian counseling to those who desire to incorporate their Christian faith into their treatment. She believes her greatest asset is her ability to meet people where they are while guiding them toward their treatment goals in a way that values them as human beings. She considers it a privilege to be a part of people’s lives in this way.
In her spare time, Meg enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, and reading, and celebrates each year when cooler weather finally begins!
