Michael Boulware, LCSW, helps individuals build stability, resilience, and practical coping skills to navigate life’s challenges across North Carolina. He provides individual therapy for teens and adults, offering support for concerns such as anxiety, depression, and trauma, while tailoring care to each person’s goals and circumstances. His approach emphasizes collaboration, helping clients feel understood while developing strategies that promote lasting emotional well-being. A key focus of Michael’s work is supporting individuals who have been recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital. He is passionate about helping clients transition safely back into daily life, reduce the risk of relapse, and strengthen routines that support recovery. Through structured, compassionate care, he assists clients in rebuilding confidence, managing symptoms, and reconnecting with their support systems during this critical period. Michael incorporates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques. He works with teens and adults, including individuals with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and military or veteran backgrounds, and offers additional support across a range of mental health concerns. Outside of his clinical work, Michael enjoys visual arts, Tai Chi and yoga, hiking, and creative writing and reading.
